I am that driver, without a moments notice my blinker blinks once and I pull of the road in a swift (but safe) maneuverer. I live for roadside stops, and anytime I drive long stretches my mind reels with possibilities. Imagine my delight when while driving today I spotted an absolute cornucopia of treasures!
The fun began outside where several items of furniture and tables filled with goodies old and new stretched across a big lot. Intrigued, I stepped inside the "Whymsical Emporium" to discover a wonderland of stuff (old and new). Little paths led me around like a maze while items of all sorts caught my attention; jewellery, doll house furniture, real furniture and decor items were displayed floor to ceiling. It seemed to be a time capsule brining together all eras and cultures.
I fell head over heels for two items; the first a little French bulldog piggy bank and the second a stained glass flamingo lamp. Both were reasonably priced, and items ranged from affordable to "collectors".
Even leaving empty handed (I couldn't decide) I was completely satisfied with my stop plus it made for a nice distraction from the driving. Whimsical Emporium can be found on highway 27 between Brampton and Barrie in Cookstown.
