Bogota's Sant Just
Sant Just is the adorable culinary paradise you didn't know you needed in your life. I certainly didn't, but after it was suggested to a friend and I on the Bogota Graffiti Tour I must go back every time I make it to the city! Touted as "French Fusion" and run by a young group of multilingual Colombian "hipster types" the restaurant has never failed to impress in taste or presentation.
The menu is changed daily and handwritten on a chalkboard which is brought to your table and then explained dish by dish - which sounds daunting but I promise its not. The passionate story of each dish includes from where its been sourced and is always an impossible combination of ingredients which comes together harmoniously. For example - Duck breast marinated in Coffee and Rice Liqueur. (Immediately I think, "what?" and "why?" but it works, its magic I swear!)
Not to mention - due to a comfortable exchange rate and the relatively low cost of food in Colombia, average folk like me can afford to eat like royalty. I will take that coffee and dessert thank you.
As Sant Just is located in the vibrant Candelaria District there is plenty to do and see in the area, such as visiting Monseratte, Plaza San Bolivar and my favourite Santuario Nuestra Señora del Carmen - but more on that another time.
However, as the restaurant is a small locally run joint it operates on its own set of hours.
Mon - Wed 11:00 am - 4: 00 pm
Thur & Fri 11:00 am - 8:00 pm
Sat 12:15 pm - 4:30 pm
Check hours on Sundays and Holidays before going (Colombians have a lot of holidays lol)
